Physical description: He's 5'11" with reddish-brown hair and green eyes.
Rory was born and raised in Ireland, where his mother taught step dancing and his father was a mechanic. He lost his father when he was still in his young teens and has since helped with the family business when he can. He was a little bit of a nuisance to the teachers in his high school, not only because he had a knack for getting into trouble, but because he had a tendency to drag his childhood friend, Corrigan, into it as well. He had a fondness for guns, which his older brother Connor brought back from Wellington and taught him to use, and was talented with them as well.
After high school, he decided to follow in Connor's footsteps and applied to Wellington Academy in Salaise as well. He and Corrigan both started their freshman year there. Rory excelled at the fighting classes, despite a slightly reckless nature. However, he doesn't devote much time to his other studies. Without Corrigan's help, he probably would have flunked out of several of his classes.
Rory loves to flirt, party and drink, and just to live a little on the edge. He's also got a little bit of a temper. Having grown up in Ireland, the political system in Salaise really gets under his skin, but he manages to ignore it most of the time with the thought of, "Well, I don't have to live here."
Case notes: Rory's kind of crazy in that I usually like him as a character, but in real life I wouldn't want to have a thing to do with him. This Rory isn't all that different from the New Haven Rory, but he's not as likeable. I have trouble putting my finger on why that is, and why it's changed. I think part of what I like less about this Rory is that he seems to have lost purpose. In New Haven he had something driving him, and his relationships with people were different in general. Without his father or older brother, he was closer to his mother there. He had Grady, Corrigan, Selene, and Abby over there too, and even though they didn't always get along . . . they were still friends. Here he's still close to people, but not as close. He hasn't formed the bonds the other one did. Plus his whole purpose now seems to be some . . . college frat boy or something. His ambitions now seem to be to drink, party, and date. Knowing Rory, that's something that will change. It will have to, I think. Now I'll just have to wait and see if it does change, and if it does, it it makes him a little more bearable again.
