A Little Prayer

I send up a prayer
for you to be safe,
knowing inside
that God has his ways.
He'll send you a rainbow,
sunset, or spring shower
bringing about
the sweet smell of flowers.
Night brings starlight
and also moonbeams,
and God sends you into
a wide world of dreams,
where life is so fair, and if just for the night
everything is perfect,
no more of the strife.
