Alkaline Trio
“From Here To Infirmary”
Vagrant Records

I have recently heard about this band, maybe 2 weeks ago, and have not stopped finding information on them, reading articles, downloading their mp3’s and trying to buy their cds online. With no luck buying the albums or EP’s I settled for using Tower Records as my source of Alkaline Trio Music. I bought the first cd I laid eyes on which happened to be their newest masterpiece, “From Here To Infirmary”. This cd is fast and has a slice of emo in it. It is loud and gets their point across, whatever the hell that is. I think the first song “Private Eye” has got the best beat and rhythm ever. This song talks about himself being the Private Eye and being the only one who someone else can talk to, or at least thats what I got. It doesn't matter what if I'm right or wrong, this is the best song! The next 2 songs, Mr. Chainsaw, and Take Lots With Alcohol, are upbeat and great songs also. These 2 pretty much don't talk about death and barbed wire fences. They are happier because of the music. The song Mr Chainsaw talks about a lot of different things. They also give the point in plain English (not saying that the rest of the song is in a foreign language or anything), but they say it right out loud, they are singing about growing up and giving up and giving in. The 4th song “Stupid Kid” is the song that made me interested in them. I downloaded the movie from some punk zine I think, but I got obsessed. So this song is just flat out good music. It has one of the easiest points to get across in the whole cd. The rest of the cd is just amazing. I have never heard anything so good. They can easily become the number one punk model in mainstream but I don't think they should sell-out of course. Punk will always rule over the world and their sell-out and pop ways if more music like this comes out every month.
This cd is the best! øøøøøøø (6 of 6)
