On Saturday, May 12th, the Elida 7th Grade Baseball team defeated LCC 11-0, and Bath 4-2, to win the 2001 Bath 7th Grade Baseball Tournament. In the semi-final game against LCC, Scott Harmon pitched 5 shutout innings giving up only 2 hits and striking out 2. The Bulldogs totaled 14 hits and 3 triples. Justin Spain and Adam Hofacker each had 3 hits. In the Championship games against Bath, Dan Rodgers pitched all 7 innings giving up only 1 earned run and 6 hits while striking out 5. Justin Spain, Adam Hofacker, Alex Martin, and Travis Guisinger all had 2 hits. Guisinger also scored 2 runs. Elida finishes the season with a record of 12-2. |
