Gaetano visited his family in America on two separate occasions. For his first visit, he departed from the port of Naples aboard the Prinz Adalbert on 21 March 1905 and arrived in New York City on 7 April 1905. He stayed with his younger brother Giuseppe Ilisco in New York City, according to the manifest of the Prinz Adalbert. For his second visit, he departed again from the port of Naples aboard the Italia and arrived in New York City on 5 June 1921. He stayed with his son Biagio Ilisco at 815 Jefferson Street in New Castle, Pennsylvania, according to the Italia's manifest. Antonetta Elisco LaMarca said that her father purchased a white suite and matching hat for Gaetano during his second visit to America. He wore his prized suite and hat when he sat for a professional portrait in the 1920's.
Gaetano married Maria COLELLA. Maria died in 1936.

Antonetta was born to Giuseppe Aversano and Maria Colella. Shortly after her birth, Giuseppe died, and Maria was then remarried to Gaetano Ilisco. They raised Antonetta alongside their own children, but she retained her biological father's surname. She traveled to America aboard the Napolitan Prince. According to the ship's manifest, her final destination was the house of her brother-in-law, Vincenzo Simone, at 514 East Liberty Street in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She is buried in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Pittsburgh.Antonetta married Michele IANNOTTI son of Raffaele IANNOTTI and Caterina. Michele was born on 1 Jan 1887 in Italy. SHOT-RIDDLED VICTIM DIES
Larimer Avenue Man's Death Laid To Blackhand.
Michael Murphy, 41, of 557 Larimer avenue, Italian-American confectionary store proprieter, riddled with buckshot Tuesday night by unidentified assailants, died last night in the Pittsburgh Hospital, according to morgue report.
Vincent Calabrese, 35, of 6226 Station street, who was walking with Murphy when he was shot, was arrested by homicide detectives as a witness. Police have no clue to the slayers, probably blackhand terrorists.
Calabrese and Murphy were walking from Murphy's home, where they had dinner, to Murphy's confectionery store in Broad street, when the murderers' automobile slowed down as it passed them. A shotgun barrel protruded through a curtain and one shot was fired, the entire contents entering Murphy's back.
Motorists took him to the hospital and police were notified, but thus far have not developed a clue to the killing other than their belief it was another "Blackhand case."

According to many Elisco family members, Michele was rumored to be connected with the mafia.
