Three of Slaton's five brothers along with "Uncle Hiram" appear here in what may have been a wedding photo for Slaton's wedding. L-R, they are: John Walton DuBois (1857-1927), Joseph Cornelius DuBois (1874-1953), "Uncle Hiram", and William Wightman DuBois (1859-1932). We're not sure who Uncle Hiram is, except that he may be Bishop Hiram Boaz, who was a cousin on the Slaton side of the family. Bishop Boaz was one of the primary founders of Southern Methodist University in Dallas. |
