DOWN IN THE MOUTH
a dental drabble

The Archie Comics universe isn't mine.  No profit is being derived from this drabble.

Inspired by a notice on the official Archie website which stated, among other things, that any use of the Archie characters must uphold the publisher's policy of promoting dental hygiene.  To steal from Buffy, I think I speak for everyone when I say, "Huh?"

Archie smiled at his reflection as he put his toothbrush down. His teeth sparkled.  He'd brushed every tooth carefully, just like the dentist had taught him.

"Yup!" he said, "Veronica'll appreciate this for sure!"

He flashed at smile at Veronica as she jumped in his car.  She looked magnificent in her expensive dress.

"Archie!" she squealed.  Then her smile changed to a look of horror.  "Oh!  I forgot to brush my teeth!"

Archie felt only a twinge of guilt as he pulled away, leaving Veronica behind.  You couldn't forget about dental hygiene…

He wondered what Betty was doing that night.
