New Year's 2000/2001: the dodgy photos

Actually, the *really* dodgy photos weren't scanned, but even the good ones look a little strange, since my scanner tends to scan 'dark', and there's only so much you can do with Ulead PhotoExpress. (The only graphics program I actually own the complete version of.  Unfortunately.)  So, out of 27 photos, here are the 11 which are worth looking at.

These were taken around Brisbane city on New Years.  We actually spent a fair amount of time indoors, but we didn't bother taking photos there.  The main figures (the only figures, since I edited everyone else out) are myself and my friends Wendy and Corrin.

Wendy, getting ready to leave.

Me, getting ready to leave.

Corrin had thought that she could get out of a getting-ready-to-leave photo, but Wendy had other plans.

Corrin and I, posing in front of what I believe was a rather nice statue of Queen Victoria outside the old Treasury (now a casino -- nice irony there, huh).  Of course, the statue didn't come out so well, but at least *we* look okay.

Now Wendy and I in front of the same statue.  (Corrin actually got more in, but still nothing of interest.  And I took a photo of Wendy and Corrin, but that didn't come out at all.)

Wendy and Corrin, at the little spot near the river where we settled down for the evening.

Me, at the same spot.

And again, because Wendy thought I'd blinked on the first one.  It's gotta be said, night photos do wonders for my skin.

Wendy, about thirty seconds after the 2 of me were taken.  I also took one of Corrin, but she was biting into something at the time, so it looked a bit stupid.  We've preserved that one for her 21st birthday.

Wendy and Corrin, and the sparklers. About 11:50 (they got tired of waiting).

About a second after that last one was taken.  Gotta love the way Corrin just doesn't care that a camera's being pointed at her.

The other photos were either mistakes, seriously flawed, or of fireworks.  Come to think of it, we may have gone a bit overboard with the fireworks...

Returning you to your regularly scheduled program...
