Westgate Timeshare Resort Issues

My name is Barry, and while looking for the phone number on the Internet for Westage, I happened upon your comments from your timeshare experience. I couldn't believe what I was reading because we had the exact same experience in October of 97. I found them to be quite nice and civil at first, starting with breakfast (which I really didn't want), the tour, but then the hard sell started. We found the pricing to be quite high, and like yourselves, really hadn't done much in the way of comparison. There was no way we were going to sign up right then and there, especially when we were told that they would finance at the same rate as our credit cards!
To make a long and ugly story short, they turned out to be extremely rude, took about 3 hours of our time as well, and in the end, left us with a very sour feeling. The condos were beautiful, but I was quite unprepared for what we experienced. At the time, I bit my tongue because I wanted to stay at the condos, but was pretty upset at the way they treated us.
We're considering going back there again this year... believe it or not! The price we paid 2 years ago for a 2 bedroom unit (complete with huge whirlpool surrounded by columns in the master bedroom and 3 TVs) was $89 per night. We're going to shop around a bit before going there again in the fall, but at least this time we would know exactly what to expect. It's not in my nature to be rude to people, even when they're rude to me... but in this case, I might make an exception!
