Westgate Timeshare Resort Issues

We will be going to westgate resorts in orlando ( and have to attend a "90 min timeshare sales pitch" next week. Any suggestions?? my wife is concerned after reading all the complaints on you web site.
One more question, if you have time. Do they ask for you social security number ( which I do not give out to just anyone) to verify your income, or do you need to bring your pay check stub? They mention " failure to meet the qualifications " meaning the 40K income will result in a $100/night charge. When I refuse to buy, will I have to prove my income to them??
