Westgate Timeshare Resort Issues

Hi I was just responding about the Westgate experience. We went on a tour in Gatlinburg and it took us all day almost. The guy we had was nice and we did buy a vacation package but not the whole thing timeshare thing.

We had a bad experience with them not sending the payment booklet and when I tried to call around the holidays no one was in for me to talk to about where the booklet was and there was so much going on with my Grandpa dying I didn't have much time to spend all day on the phone waiting for a customer service rep. I recently called the guy who originally talk to us because he gave us his cell number and he took care of it and we had our payment booklet within a week and a half. We then received a notice saying that we owed payments plus past due charges and when I called to tell them what a difficult time that I had reaching them around the holidays and that I finally had to call the cell phone that I had and I told them what happened they were not apologetic about not sending a booklet but said you should have sent a payment to the address on the contract. Of course even though they did not send the booklet they did not offer a compromise, they seemed a little rude over the phone.. The reason why people request these booklets is so they can keep organized and be reminded, she told me that it is only a courtesy of the resort to send them out and I told her that they weren't very courteous in my place. It blew my impression of them, they lost a possible 10,000 over a $30.00 late fee. I just felt that if they were not going to be accomadating with this matter then they would probably would not be good to work with. At least an apology would have been nice.
