My wife and I visited Merida this past September for two weeks and found all of the people to be extremely courteous and friendly and most helpful. Fact is, through that experience, we plan on returning to Merida this summer for three weeks and during that time will be looking for housing so that we can retire there at the end of the year. I think in my 64 years, I have never found or seen a city like Merida with its cleanliness, generosity and friendly people. I think any person should be thankful and proud to live in and identify with.
