Opressive reign,
Darkness envel'pes,
Trees all wither;
A scream breaks out,
Then is silenced:
In this moonless
Night, deathly cold,
Chaos roams free.
Confusion come,
All hope is lost,
While sooty clouds
Blot out the stars;
I see but black,
Yet hear too much -
Death comes swiftly,
Astride his charger.
I lay in bed,
Sweet sleep come not:
Ever seeing demons -
Boggles and such -
Yet seeing nothing;
Knowing ever less.
Losing my mind,
Am I alive?
Shoot up; to arms!
An anguished cry,
All too close for
Me to handle:
Heart flees my chest,
Sweat escapes me,
Sanity gone;
A shell remains.
Collapsed upon
The bedroom floor
Curled in a ball
And shivering;
Ever shaking...
Will it but end?
Shall I have the
Release I seek?
Hark! --a sound near-
By announces
The coming of
My written fate:
My hour's come - and
All I have is
A disease in
my mind: a fear.
Open eyes; focus.
Vission clears; fate?
Nay, I see not
The fate I feared:
Heart leaps; sweat stops -
Mind restored to
Me once more:
Hope is my fate!
