Courses

ELTC Unhalu provides a broad range of courses available for both beginner and intermediate students. The length of the course varies from course to course, depending upon the needs of the participants. Apart from the above-mentioned course programmes, ELTC Unhalu also provides translation services both Indonesian-English and English-Indonesian. Furthermore, ELTC Unhalu also provides editorial services for articles written in English.

General English Course
This programme is designed to equip the participants with skills necessary to understand and speak English confidently. The course will include: 

TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language)
This programme is designed for those intending to sit TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) either to  fulfill university entrance requirement or to apply for an overseas scholarship programme. The content of the course will be focussed on Listening, Structure and Written Expression as well as Reading, as these skills constitute the bulk of the test. IELTS (International English Language Testing System)
As is the case with TOEFL, training on IELTS is also provided at ELTC Unhalu. The course is aimed at equipping the participants with strategies necessary to sit IELTS test and to familiarize them with the test. Having said that, the content of the course will be directed at IELTS-based materials which include listening, speaking, writing and reading comprehension. Testing and Progress

On your first day you will be given a placement test to determine your level and the appropriate classes for you. From this test, we will help you to set goals and develop strategies for improvement.  Tests are given on a regular basis. Your teachers will monitor your progress and highlight areas that need improvement.

All students sit a placement test on their first day. This will test your listening, reading, speaking and writing skills. We will use this test to help us place you in the correct class for your English level.

At the end of every term we will give you another test to see how you have progressed. Your class teachers will also give you a speaking mark based on your class performance. We will use the test and the recommendation of your teachers to place you in your class for the next term (should you proceed to the upper level).

When you complete your studies at ELTC Unhalu, we will give you a certificate showing:

Your teachers assess your English level in each of the 4 main skills: listening, reading, speaking and writing. Your performance mark is based on your participation in class.

Costs

The course costs vary with course types and participants. A 50% discount will apply to students of Haluoleo University for all course types.

A minimum of 10 participants is required for the course to run. Each class consists of a maximum of 15 participants in which case, another 5% discount will apply.
