Dedicated to all those who have ever been effected by war

A Poem for Remembrance Day

By Jenn Somers

They left for war
In shouts and cheers
But home they came
In pain and tears
Amongst the war
Amongst the guns
Mothers cried
"Don't take our sons"
Young kids left
With jumps and joys
But war killed most
Of those little boys
Now families morn
And torn apart
Wives were left
With a broken heart
At the end of all this
One would assume
A lesson would be learned
And the world would resume
But alas this is not
The case at all
For after World War I
Another war did fall
