Marian Exhibit at the Ateneo

Ateneo faculty Elvi Tamayo holds his second solo exhibit entitled InnerWorks with the Blessed Mother this week at the Ateneo de Davao University Library.

Reminiscent of stained glass windows, Tamayo's works are in oil and chalk pastels and color pencils. A few are in metallic inks. All are quiet yet compelling invitations to journey into Tamayo¹s and our own inner spaces.

The exhibit is a celebration of Tamayo's love affair with the Blessed Mother Mary. InnerWorks also tells of "the goodness of life, and soulful friendships, of journeys and pilgrimages to find the heart of things, the soul's home," as Tamayo states in the exhibit notes.

Tamayo is a faculty member of the Philosophy Division and the Ignatian Institute for Religious Education. He is the vice president of the Ateneo College Faculty Club. Throughout his years at the Ateneo, he served variously as Admissions Director and Philosophy Division Chair.

The exhibit will run from 25 September to 5 October 2002, on the fourth floor of the University Library, Jacinto Street, Davao City. The public is invited.

Limited-edition color postcards of choice works will be on sale during the exhibit. Inquiries can be coursed through Ms. Fely of the Philosophy Division, at (082) 221.2411 through 14, ext. 8321.
