| Born on March 31st 1974, the Placebo bassist started in the music business playing drums in his school band. Soon enough, the 6'4" Swede realised that he wanted to be at the front of the band, and so he learned to play bass guitar. Although known as the band's bassist, Stefan plays lead guitar on many tracks, especially live. Like Brian, Stefan attended school in Luxembourg, and was well known as a star sportsman, and didn't really know Brian well. Stefan is an open homosexual, and often appears on stage with "HOMO" written across his chest. Stef states that his musical influences are the "dodgy rock bands" such as ABBA and Depeche Mode, and Brian once stated that he was a cross between "Mr. Spock and a Cadburys cream egg." |
