| After Robert Shulzberg left Placebo, there was one man at the top of Brian Molko's list as a replacement drummer-Steven James Hewitt. Born in Manchester, England, on 22nd March, 1971, Steve is the only band member with a child, and also the only heterosexual. Before joining Placebo, Steve had played in many bands, including Breed, of whom Brian was a big fan. In his spare time, Steve enjoys racing around Europe in fast cars, and his musical influences include Prince, James Brown, and The Smashing Pumpkins. Quoted as saying that if he was deserted on a desert island, all he would want was "My CDs and a big bag of weed" he was eager to fill in on the missing place in the band after Robert's departure. Steve had initially played on the band's Demo CDs, but due to other commitments, he couldn't join back then, but now he is back, and better than ever. |
