I thought about sticking my ugly mug on my scanner and scanning my face but that would probably be a waste of website space and your time as well.
I just started painting 15mm minis about a year ago. Before that, I bought a few Warhammer figures and painted on them for about 2 years. I sold them and decided 15mm was the way to go.
Why 15mm?
advantages over larger scales
- cheaper than larger scales
- all metal
- good detail
- harder to see my many painting errors
- larger battles possible on a smaller surface
- large battles can be fought on a kitchen table
- smaller terrain is easier to make
- you don't have to be a good painter to paint them
- quicker to paint and assemble
disadvantages over larger scales
- not as customizable as larger scales
- detail not as good as larger scales
- doesn't look as good as larger scales
- not as durable as larger scales
All opinions are my own and not to be taken as absolute truth.
