Essex knight donated by Paintbeast
height=15mm
width=skimpy
rumors=don't recall
personal opinion=Looks like a good figure, but I don't own one to see how he would rank up next to my other figures. He might go with my Old Glory peasants but not sure.
size compatibility=unknown
An Old Glory peasant.
height=15mm
width=average
rumors=don't recall
personal opinion=The knight and peasant are the same size and might go well together, though differing widths may make them different. Goes well with Chariot elven thieves and Condom's mates.
size compatibility=Chariot Condom's Mates and elven thieves.
Chariot condom the barbarian and mates pack. Strange name for a barbarian I would think :) Isn't condom a vietnamese word? 4 in a pack 1 pose each.
height=16-17mm mates, 15mm condom
width=average mates, skimpy condom
rumors=don't recall
personal opinion=Strangely enough condom seems to be a little skimpier than his mates. I realize he looks short because he is crouching slightly, but he also looks skimpier than the others. Perhaps I just thought a muscle-bound barbarian would be bulkier than his mates. I like the weapon in the sword bearer's left hand, not sure what it is but it looks like Worf's weapon on Star Trek: The Next Generation. They are compatible with Old Glory peasants and Chariot's elven thieves, except for condom. I'm thinking condom might make a good RPG character; a barbarian with a personality complex due to his small stature :)
size compatibility=Mates are compatible with Old Glory peasants and Chariot's elven thieves. Condom is tall enough but a little too skimpy in my opinion to go with them, but I will probably stick him in there anyway.
Black Raven Foundry men of Illyria. You get 11 poses, 48 troops in a bag.
height=20mm, you'll have to take my word for it for now. I couldn't get them to stand up straight for a scan. I'll have to tape or glue them down next time. This measurement is taken from the ones standing straight up and it includes the base.
width=average
rumors=Black Raven Foundry is the best value for the buck. Black Raven Foundry and Perrin are the two best quality 15mm fantasy miniatures.
personal opinion=These guys are tall! Not any bulkier just really tall. I think they look nice and realistic. 11 poses is definately good. $15 for 48 is also good. I'm interested in seeing how they will look next to Museum miniatures. These are rumored to be really tall also. I would probably go with BRF for humans if there were more troop types or at least some in plate mail.
height=17.5mm
width=bulky
personal opinion=Ral Partha figures are bulky like Blood Dawn figures. They work perfectly together. They're also fairly compatible with Black Raven Foundry. The left figure is wielding a dagger in one hand and a sling in the other. The right figure is a nobleman in chainmail and a plumed hat wielding a shield in one hand and nothing in the other. I like Ral Partha a lot, hopefully I'll be able to get some more in the future.
A line-up of several 15mm humans. I was able to measure the Black Raven Foundry human this time. Left to right-Chariot condom the barbarian, Chariot mate, Old Glory peasant, and Black Raven Foundry Illyrian melee troop.
Conan-like barbarians from two different manufacturers. The one on the left is Chariot, the one on the right is Ral Partha. They both claim to be 15mm, yeah right. Quite a bit of a size difference.
