Bulgaria

I think I've got a great uncle from here....

We came into Bulgaria with virtually no knowledge of the place, other than they don't speak English. We were told by lots of people that it was a dodgy place, where everything, including what we were wearing, would be stolen. Fortunately, that hasn't happened!! But really, this place is great. The forests are beautiful and plentiful, in the country they still use cool horse and carts, and the museum we went to in Varna is one of the best musuems I've ever been to. And to add to that, I had the best iced coffee I found anywhere in Europe, in a caf‚ under our hotel in Varna.

One fact that I've mentioned to a lot of people, and really did strike us when we were in Bulgaria, was the people. The women were beautiful, and they weren't afraid to be seen wearing a bikini. All good :) Sharon tells me the guys were something too.

We only spent a couple of days in Bulgaria. We biked along the Black Sea coast as we headed for Romania. The landscape that we saw was rolling hills and large plains. Nothing spectacular (except for the forests). But there is a lot more to Bulgaria, and Bulgaria is the only country that we went to that I really feel that I hardly saw at all. It is high on my list of places-to-see-and-things-to-do-when-I-have-the-time-and-money.

Enough of this place. Let's go to Romania.
