The following exercise is an extension of the Pythagorean theorem. Drag the red dot to change the size of the black right-angle triangle. Not only does the Pythagorean theorem apply to squares but from the above experiment we see that it also works with regular pentagons. I wonder if it'll work with regular hexagons or even semicircles?? |
