"In living we all become a critic."
Review of Lunar and Lunar 2 for Playstation
Lunar:
Silver Star Story
Complete:

Well, I finally played and beat Lunar on my own.  A friend of mine beat the game in front of me the first time I saw it, which she has a bad habit of.  When I played it however, I saw a lot more of the story and beautifully done cinematics.  In my opinion the soundtrack was great and the artwork was awe-inspiring.  Yet the ingame images weren't too appealing- they didn't look any better than what you'd see on a SNES.  Our times have changed as well as our platforms.  Playstation is capable of more than just a badly pixelated ingame screen.  Is there not a way to add beauty to this game in the playing field?  Yet, all in all, even with the poorly designed ingame images, this game is still a hard-hitter when it comes to us platform RPGers because it has quality cinematics and a great story line.  That is quite apparent, as I had to wait a year and a half before I could even find this game on store shelfs. It was definitely a good buy.
Lunar 2:
Eternal Blue
Complete:

I bought this one when it first came out.  I still had yet to play the first, yet I already knew the major jist of the story since my friend showed and explained the highest points of the prequel to this game.  I'm glad I already had SSS spoiled for me, because if I didn't, this sequel would have done just that.  It has much reference to the first game, as it is one thousand years into the future and the story of SSS is the legend of legends in this new sequel.  So I insist that you first play SSS before trying out this one.(***Note: this is not a Final Fantasy kind of game, where each FF has nothing to do with the last***)  The ingame images are just as bad as the first, yet there might be a few more cinematics.  And you could even recognize one or two characters from the origional.  No, they are not the same characters, just a great-great-great(and on, and on)grandchild.  Yet, the story is of a strange and desperate  girl looking for the goddess Althena and her new found feeling of love for the hero, Hiro(No joke).  This sequel to the first story of Lunar is also a great tale.  It has an outstanding soundtrack, and the goodies in the omake box are great.  Those are almost worth the high price in themselves.  Yes, if you are a major gamer or just a bored nongamer, you should buy this, but I'm warning you, this mission is not an easy one.
