 After he was born, he moved to Saitama where he spent his childhood in peace. When he became an elementary student, he was influenced by Captain Tsubasa (a soccer player) who was extremely popular in those days and joined a soccer team. He spent those days as a soccer boy. MAYU the soccer boy first encountered the guitar when he was in 6th grade. The first guitar he bought was a used folk guitar with his saved up allowance. MAYU, who had just been involved in soccer so far in his life, sank into the world of music. Time passed, and MAYU began working as a roadie during his 3rd year of highschool.
MAYU was inspired there (the place where he worked for as a roadie) and formed the band "l're" and began band activity. During that time, he also created the band LAREINE with his fellow roadie KAMIJO. LAREINE spent some time on the indies scene, and made their major debut in May 1999. MAYU decided to leave LAREINE at the live concert at Akasaka Blitz on August 6, 2000. In March, 2001 he created a new band called "NEW SODMY."
