Walter told everyone that this was the 45th anniversary of the cottage association. Talk on water testing that is done by the Association each summer - water quality is deteriorating.
Nominations for executive for next year were made:
Tim Artichuk
Erik Miitel
Mike England
Frank Kiraly
Tony Pontillas - Representing Stepan Canada
Tim Artichuk took over meeting at this time: He talked on getting more of the people involved and getting membership up and active. This way we will take a more active role in what is happening on "our" lake.
Petition being passed around for members to sign: on getting the Ministry of National Resources to leave 2 logs in the dam so that water level is 6"-8" higher than it is right now.
Councilor for Ward 2, Ramara, John O'Donnell told our group that all septic systems will be checked in the area. Bob Gibson is the person in charge of the inspections. John also mentioned that he has asked council to have fishing huts on the Lake licensed. Erik asked if huts couldn't be banned from the lake, but this will not happen, as the Ministry will not close fishing on this lake. We need to sign a petition to have all the huts licensed.
Erik has website up and going for the Association.
Tony talked on water that is being returned to lake from plant. He didn't give full details as he has only been at plant for approximately 3 weeks now, and is still getting settled in. He has an open door policy; so if you have more questions, see Tony at the plant. He also reported that new trees have been planted on the plant property.
We have 2 police officers on snowmobile to patrol the trails and lake. Meeting adjourned: 1st Elizabeth Myles, 2nd Joan Hopper
Everyone then enjoyed hot dogs, hamburgers, pop and water. "Thanks to Stepan."
