Yesterday, I went job hunting. I tried to, at least. I dropped my resumé off at two Chapters stores, but chickened out on going to Starbucks or HMV. I'll try again another day, though. I also got to talk to Lara or a little bit, which was nice. She said she was probably going up to her cottage in Muskoka for the weekend. I said good, but now I hear that last night it snowed in Muskoka, so that's bad. I hope it melts today, and that the weekned clears up a bit for Larie's sake. I also talked to Jessa for maybe two hours total. I called her after Friends was over, and we called each other back and forth while watching both Survivor and Hockey Night in Canada. She wasn't as excited about the Leafs beating the stuffing out of Carolina as I thought she would be. Meh. She accepted my request that she come visit me and protect me on Sunday night, during Meaghan's birthday party. We decided that she will some with us to see the Star Wars movie, then sleep over in my room while the seven little 14 year-olds sleep in the living room. She's so good to protect me from them.
So it's a long weekend coming up shortly (in like, an hour for me), and I'm very happy for it. Saturday, I think I'll get Meaghan her birthday present (not sure what, yet) and go grocery shopping with my dad, then do some work on my quilt and maybe go strolling through Ikea for fun. Sunday morning will be spent cleaning the house, as my mother has this thing about the house being messy when we have parties. I don't know what the problem is, everyone can tell just by looking at us that my family members are slobs, but she thinks that if people never seen actual proof then it must not be true. So, we'll clean. Then people will probably get to our house around 12ish, since the girls want to wander around the mall before the movie, and Jess and I will meet them at the theatre at the appointed time. Them a movie, then driving girls back home, then hiding in the basement and watching hockey and The X-Files until we can sneak upstairs. And hopefully, Victoria Day will be spent napping and lounging. I'm really, really excited for it all.
Speaking of airplanes, what do people think about the new Weezer album? I know Lauren thinks it's wonderful (she thinks everything Weezer is wonderful), and Greg thinks it's the same as ever, if questionably good. But what about the rest of you? I've only heard the one single off of it (despite basically every song being available somewhere on the internet) and, while I found it catchy, it didn't strike me as too exciting or original. It sounded like all their other songs. Then again, that's kind of the point isn't it? That's their sound, right? Every single U2 song sounds the same, most Oasis songs have the same basic melody, and I find that I can melt one Belle and Sebastian song into the next. So it's just right that the new album sounds like the last one. I'm just wondering if it's worth the sixteen dollars to find out for myself, is all. Oh, hell, I'll buy it anyway just for the cute cover art. Plus, I got paid yesterday. Yay me!
I'd better do some work now. I told my parents that I was leaving early to buy myself a present, and I doubt they'll approve if all I've done is two days' worth of dockets. Until next time.
