Today, I was midly depressed. This happens often, and is usually dealt with in two ways: either I spend the whole day in bed (if I have to go out, I deal with it by saying nothing, keeping my eyelids lowered at all times and maintaining a constant look of boredom) or by going out and buying something. Today, I did both.
The day started off okay. I got up at 9, had banana bread for breakfast (the only bagel we had was mouldy) and watched some soccer. Then at 10, I got lonely, so I spent the next fourty-five minutes trying to get Meaghan out of bed. Then, we both decided (well, I forced her) to go through our cupboards for things we don't need anymore, the idea being that we would go to Goodwill in the afternoon. I emptied out the cupboard under my bookshelf and ended up with two bags full of old teddy bears and cheap jewelry. She went through her bookshelves and ended up with a huge stack of horsey books and J'Aime Lires. However, we left them on my mum's bed because we may give some of these things to my cousins. Meh, whatever. All I wanted was a clean cupboard.
After that, though, there was nothing to do. I watched some tv, tried cleaning the living room but it wasn't really dirty, and then got very, very bored. So I lay down on my bed for a few hours, which was terribly boring as well. Then, I guilt-tripped Meaghan to going out with me. We went back to Ikea and bought a nice comfy wool blanket (blanket + wool = supercomfort), then went to Square One, where I broke down and bought a black crew-neck sweater vest. Yes, a sweater vest. As some of you may be aware, the sweater vest is my big fashion weakness. Or maybe I should simply say "biggest". In Level three I wore sweater vests on nearly every single grub day. I now require surveilance while shopping so that I don't fall into that kind of pattern again. Today, however, I had no such surveilance (as Meaghan is unaware of my illness), so I bought one. I now fear that I may fall back into such other Level three obsessions such as tie origami, listening to (What's The Story) Morning Glory? incessantly, watching Ally McBeal by choice and wearing my socks pulled up to my knees.
In other news, I also bought three lawn tickets for the Oasis/Sloan concert in August. Lawn tickets. I feel so common. It's wonderful.
