I'm playing around with this a little bit because I'm bored. I'm bored with my layout, I'm bored with my writing (not that it was ever too exciting), and I'm bored that no one else is writing. I know that it's the beginning of the school year and all, so some people may not have internet in their houses yet, while some people are too busy with classes and clubs and stuff, and some may not be able to find their computers for clutter at the moment. Still others seem to have given up completely. I don't mean to nag (though that's probably exactly what it sounds like), it's just that I got so used to reading a bunch of fun stuff every day. And now there's nothing. I just thought I might entice you all to start anew.
Plus, you know, autumn is a nice season. I thought I might make sweater season get here faster if I decorated a bit. Think it'll work?
In any event, I've had an exciting few days. Saturday, as I said in passing last time, I went to the grease pole with the engineers. It was an experience, I can tell you that. Basically, what they do is they put a 25-foot flagpole in the middle of a big pit, cover it in grease, then fill the pit with dirty, disgusting, freezing cold water and have the frosh climb on top of each other to get to the top and remove a tam that's nailed there. At the same time, though, they have to fend off the mud and insults being thrown at them by upper year engineers and alumni. So it was dirty, it was muddy, but at the same time it was incredibly funny. I had fun, and I got a few minutes of really good footage. The rest of the day was spent primarily in bed, though, or wandering around the house in my pyjamas.
Sunday I don't think I got very much done. The whole house was still tired from Friday night, so I think we lounged most of the day and watched movies. I tried to read my book for my Modern class, and I tried to recopy some notes, but I didn't get much of it done.
Then yesterday I had classes, and I spent the rest of the day on readings. Nothing exciting there. And today, I went to my two classes, then came back here and read. I know, I lead such a glamorous life.
I do have one piece of exciting news, though. Today, I received my first bill in the mail. I'm officially a grown up. Hurrah!
