Small pleasures of the past few days:
- the smell of Lara's cottage on Friday night
- remembering how good it feels to swim in the lake
- finding my Postal Service cd when I thought I'd lost it
- reading the name "Magee" in a book of children's names
- getting an unexpected letter from Surrey
- Starbucks's new passion fruit ice tea drink'
- convincing Lara that Ron dies in HP5
- hearing a lawyer stumble over "chronology" ("chronolollogy" - bwa!)
- trying on high heels and not breaking either ankle
- lunch and really old gossip with my favourite girls

- some song about black velvet, possibly called "Black Velvet"

Colours my sunburnt legs have gone through since Friday:
- morgue white (pre-sunburn)
- pale yellow (immediately before sunburn)
- oven-roasted duck (during sunburn)
- blushing bride (evening before sunburn revealed itself)
- angry Viking (day after sunburn)
- red and white stripes (I burned finger marks into my legs somehow)
