I found this in one of my library books today:

How exciting is that? Someone has not only left their receipt in the book (that's one of my favourite things ever, finding things people have left in library books, right up there with finding things people have written in the margins), but they've also written on it, and even better, written my name! I can think of only three possible explanations:
1) someone was just practicing writing their own name (boring)
2) someone was writing the name of the Emily they have a crush on (kind of exciting)
3) someone was writing to me (kind of scary, but exciting! also, they did it before I knew I was coming here, so that's doubly spooky)

I like the second possibility the most, but it doesn't seem likely. Firstly, do boys do that kind of thing? Write their crush's name out? I know some girls do that, but I've never seen a boy do it. And secondly, let's be realistic here, that doesn't look like a boy's handwriting, does it? It's all curvy, and not sloppy. It's my experience that boys' handwriting is either curvy and messy, or straight and geometrical. Then again, I'm no expert. And oh, hang on, even if it's not a boy's writing, option 2 could still be possible. How inside-the-box of me.

So the conclusion we've reached here is, well, it's nothing. All we know for sure is that I found this in a book today. Which was exciting for me. End of story.
