Modern Charts – These charts trace ancestral lines back to what is generally called the "Atlantic Crossing," or the point when ancestors immigrated to America. Some lines are traced a few generations further for continuity, but generally don't include ancestors much before the 16th century. Charts of modern family trees have been developed for the following:
Graf, Groff-Kindig, Herr, Hartman-LeFevre, Kendig, Lintner, and Witmer (all of which were of Swiss-German Mennonite descent); and Garrett, Horton, Pusey, Sharpless-Yearsley, Thatcher, and Wharton (all of which were of English/Irish/Welsh descent).
Ancient Ancestors – These charts trace ancestral lines in the "Old Country." For this family history, they include ancestors of only the Wharton line. All Whartons are descended from Gilbert deQuerton, who came to England during the Norman invasion. While no direct connection has been made between this particular Wharton line and the deQuertion line, it can be assumed there is one at some point, and for that reason the ancient lines are presented. Charts of ancient family trees have been developed for the following:
Frankish Rulers, Norse Rulers, Norman Dukes, deHastings, deQuerton (including the Whartons of Westmoreland and Kirkby Thor), and the Whartons of early Philadelphia.
