Today&Future Forecast Summary

Currently @11:00PM, 40F, dp 27F, 59%, 1012.2mb, w 10, clng 5000 ft, vis 10mi, cloudy, none

Rain began early this morning between 1-3AM. Earlier forecasts predicted the rain would end by sunrise. However, the rain lingered until noon. Shortly after the rain was done, sun broke through the clouds making today a nice day after an unpleasent start. Most of the snow from the Sunday/Monday snows has melted. Our yard kept most of the snowcover because it's in the shade. Any snowpiles will probably stick around for another week or two. Or they'll stay around until the next January thaw. Winter will return this weekend albeit not very powerfully. The really cold air will stay locked up in Canada AGAIN. Medium to Long-Range models such as teh ECMWF and MRF continue showing that some of this cold air will spill down into the lower 48. It's unlikely, considering they've had that same forecast all winter and we still haven't seen a good ARCTIC outbreak of cold. On a more positive note, we could be in for some more possible snowstorms coming up this week and beyond. It appears that the Northern and Southern branches of the Jet Stream will get more active leading to the possibility for storms to give some parts of the East Coast snow. In summary, it's likely that storms will threaten the East coast. There still is great uncertainty as to whether there will be enough cold air to support snow rather than the plain old rain we saw last night and this morning. Keep checking back for more updates...GO EAGLES!!!...8^)...Ev
