Today&Future Forecast Summary

10:37 PM: Temp 46F, DP 37F, RH 73%, 1021.2 mb, calm, vis 10 mi, 100% str

We had strong winds over the past weekend. A large tree came down in the woods next to our house. It came within a couple feet of going through the fence. Temps on Saturday were around 70 and on Sunday mostly in the 30s. It's done that often over the past several weeks, and is common during the seasonal transition between Winter and Spring. Unfortuately, some of the flowers that came up earlier this month have already been killed from below freezing temps. It was still nice to see those flowers up for the short period they were alive.

The spring will turn out to be a test for area residents. Mandatory drought laws will cause homeowners headaches when trying to get green lawns and flourishing gardens. I read an interesting article about how industries are spared from any water restrictions because it could create job losses. Industries use greater amounts of water for cooling machinery and just general cleaning than any household or even several neighborhoods would use in a single day.

As for the short-term weather: A low pressure area in the southeast near the Georgia/Alabam coastline will move north northeast towards the mid-atlantic and northeast states overnight tonight and tommorrow. Rain is moving into the Delaware Valley as I write this. The rain stretches hundreds of miles southward. We will get some well needed rainfall tommorrow. Totals will likely be at most an inch of rain when the storm comes to an end tommorrow afternoon. The track of this storm just a month earlier could have been condusive for a moderate-major snowstorm. Sux. We desperately need the rain however, so forget about the snow. I'm ready for Spring anyways

The remainder of the week will be tranquil with temps 60-70 until Friday night when rain showers could move back into the region. If you look outside and see rain don't complain about the weather. The more rain we get now the greener the grasses and more colorful the flowers will be in the upcoming several weeks...8^)...Ev
