Tommorrow's Forecast Summary

It got even warmer today with highs near 60. There were a considerable amount of clouds, much more than I thought. It was hard to keep up with the weather today because I'm pretty busy, however I caught some news here and there. As for us in the northeast its going to be pretty uneventful and boring the next few days or so. Temps will run above normal with highs mostly in the 50s. Sunshine will be hard to come by until this weekend. If you have weekend plans stick to them. It looks as if this may be the last mild weekend for a while, at least I hope so. The long range MRF finally is hinting towards a significant cool down. I hope those snow jets are getting put in place up in the poconos, because they're going to get some use in about a week, I sure as hell hope so. I really have to start looking into the other models rather than just relying on the MRF and National Weather Service. The only other sweet long-range model that I know of with my limited weather education is the ECMWF. I'll start checking that one out and using that in the summaries.

...Besides the boring weather in the Northeast there were a few significant weather events occuring around the country today. Heavy flooding rains inundated Northeast Florida right over Jacksonville. There were flash flood watches and most likely flash flood warnings over that area with the hours of soaking rains that took place. Also, there was some flooding rains in Northern Texas. However, I didn't hear much about that probably because it wasn't as populated or something. Lastly, steady rains soaked northwestern Oregan and the coast of Washington all day. There pretty used to rains up there so probably no flooding occured......Quick interesting fact I read in a weather book today on the crapper...The mountains of Washington get some seriously hefty snow, more than I could find anywhere else in the country I think. In the month of January alone one of the mountain locations received an average of over 100 inches of snow for that month!!!! Man, I have to get out there and experinece that type of snow someday! But, the funny thing is that most of us would think that the snow would be powder because its out west, wrong. Because of Oregan's close proximation to the coast they have a huge maritime influence keeping the temperatures much warmer than at other mountain locations throughout the country at similar elevations. Can you imagine shoveling 100 inches of heavy wet snow! WE bitch about 5 or 6 inches of the slush. They are some serious troopers living out there. Ok thanks for checking out my site...keep coming back and leave comments if you're completely bored or if you have any advice cause I'm still an amateur.....Ev 8^)
