Tommorrow's Forecast Summary
Today&Tommorrow's Forecast SummaryHAPPY BIRTHDAY SHAWN!!!!! YOU OLD BASTARD 21!!!! Today was a the typical Scranton weather I've grown to love, cloudy with afternoon drizzle. What I can't believe is that this damn ridge over the East coast has been consistent practically the entire month of November. Unfortunately, all of the cold air has stayed to our west and north so far. Maybe it's that El Nina acting up, who knows. All I have to say is that we better get some snow soon. The northern plains got HAMMERED yesterday with 6-24 inches of snow from Iowa to the UP of Michigan. Man I wish I was there now. Even down in Oklahoma, Texas, and Missouri they are getting 3-10 inches of snow along with a descent ice storm in the southeastern zones closer to the low pressure. Get this, there is currently Hurricane Olga 1 or 200 miles to the ENE of Bermuda! It sure as hell is late for hurricanes to be out in the Atlantic. The ocean wather temperature is below 80 degrees so they are finding this storm hard to predict. With 3 days it could be close to Bermuda with Tropical Storm force or minimal hurrican force winds. We'll just have to wait and see. As for the long-range forecast. You know what.....The models change so drastically from day to day. And a pattern I've come to recognize is no matter how cold they predict it to get in the East, it ends up being warm anyways. This high pressure ridge is stubborn. I'd say in about 2 weeks it would have to break down and succomb to mother nature's winter. I sure hope so...it's too warm out there and no snow on the slopes. Back in 1993 at this time the slopes had been opened since the middle of November!!!! I can't wait for a repeat of that year. Ok everyone check back again. I'll try to make this more of my routine and get some daily updates up rather than sporadic ones....Ev8^) |
