Today&Future Forecast Summary

Today was an awesome day in NEPA, except that it was pretty warm in the afternoon. Hell, I'm used to that now so it wasn't bad at all. Most people had on short-sleeve shirts. This weekend there could be some flurries or isolated snow showers, however I wouldn't count on it. The lake-effet snows won't be extremely significant because the incoming air-mass from southern Canada won't be cold enough. There just won't be enough instability. A cold front will approach the area later Thursday with some rain showers moving in. The rain showers will continue into Thursday night with some snow probably mixing in over the higher elevations, no accumulations. Cooler air will move in Friday and over the weekend. Some flurries and snow showers will be around on the weekend. There is a massive cold air-mass over Central Canada that only needs a good shove southward which isn't uncommon this time of year. The winter forecasts continue to predict below-normal temperatures in the northern plains and northeast. However, so far the northeast has had record warmth during the month of November. The norther plains, on the otherhand, have had normal temperatures with a few good snowfalls, lucky bastards. This pattern of warmth WILL absolutely end. It just may take until around Christmas before we feel winter's first breath. Wouldn't that be sweeet to have a white Christmas. Those are always the best. Man I haev to start listening to the Christmas music and get in the spirit. It's just too bad that I won't have any money this year for Chrismas presents. Just today I thought I lost my wallet and checked my account- 1 dollar left! haha. I just made it through the semester. Well, my dumbass cancelled the credit card 5 mintues before finding my wallet, go figure. It was pretty funny having my whole room torn apart and it was right under my nose the whole time!

Back to the weather. I'm not sure of any significant weather across the nation. There were some serious floods over Columbia which led to a few deaths unfortunately. Also, there has been some significant snows over the cascades and northern rockies lately with the influx of powerful Pacific lows. We just need that ridge to build big pushing the lows into Canada and then nosediving down into the Central Plains. Therafter, bottoming out at the gulf coast sucking up bucketloads of moisture. Substantial pressure drops from a merged northern and southern jetstream bringing it right up the coast, dragging down a shallow layer of cold air JUST thick enough to support a kickass blizzard...Yeh maybe later this month....ok everyone if you made it this far, ura brave soul....Havea good day, check back tommorrow...8^)...Ev
