Today&Future Forecast SummaryCurrently in HATFIELD, PA(4th forecast from here)@1:12AM, 54F, dp 53F, 97%, 994.8mb, s-8, clng 1500 ft., vis 8mi, 100% clouds The weather turned out rather interesting in the northeast today. The low pressure moved due East into Pennsylvania during the day. As the warm air advanced to the north, the freezing rain line moved northward also. There most likely were some scattered power outages and several accidents from the ice/snow. Snow fell in Northern New England, and they are looking at possible 6-8 inches of snow in some places, lucky bastards. At my cousins house in Grafton, Mass there was freezing rain all day long. They live on top of a 600ft hill, and most likely had more ice then the lower areas. Boston even had a quick inch of snow today before it mixed in with freezing rain and rain this afternoon. Here in SEPA it was just rain. The rain held off most of the day and arrived at the end of rush hour. It fell heavy at times which is exceelent news for the drought situation. The low continues to strengthen right now as it is moving across Eastern PA and New Jersey. As for the longer range: Many of the forecast models are coming together with a stronger coastal low on Christmas Eve. Nonetheless, these models have been pathetic as of late. I have absolutely no confidence at the forecasts they are giving us for 7 days in advance. Many meteorologists, such as Gary Gray, have noticed global pattern changes occurring. These changing leave the Northeast towards a more favorable colder and snowy weather solution. I still have some hope for snow in Hatfield, Pa. We probably will be right on the line for rain and snow which usually is the case. One of the main ingredients into weather there is enough cold-air for early next week, happens this Thursday. On Thursday a weak trough will gain some steam in the Central Appalacians on its way off the coast. There isn't much of a threat for precip besides some light rain and snow showers. However, the stronger that storm gets off the coast, the more cold air gets drug down from Canada. The upcoming week is going to be damn exciting and many factors will determine what's going to happen next week. Keep checking back as my forecasts could be getting longer and more exciting: for the weather nerds like me. Have a great day...8^)...Ev |
