Today&Future Forecast SummaryCurrently in HATFIELD, PA @11:04PM, 40F, dp 30F, 67%, 1008.1mb, w-6, clng unlimited ft., vis 10mi, 0% clouds A strong low pressure system moved off the New Jersey coast today and out past Cape Cod. The storm strengthened steadily into a powerful low. Parts of New Foundland and Nova Scotia are going to get hammered by the low as it moves northeastward towards the coast. The Atlantic has remained very warm and that will allow the storm to gain even more steam than in a usual year. During the day today, SEPA felt old man winter with temps in the 40s and 30-40 mph wind gusts. The winds will die down and skies will clear tonight and tommorrow. On Thurs. a front will move in from the Great Lakes and bring some windy weather with the chance of sprinkles and flurries. This front will bring some colder air from Canada into the Northeast over the weekend. Depending on what happens with the hyped Christmas storm, we could have enough cold air here for a snowstorm. Unfortunately, the models today switched from predicting a snowstorm to a rainstorm. They now think the low will track further west across the Great Lakes and Ohio Valley rather than the East Coast. Whatever, its crap. This storm won't be set in stone until 36-48 hrs pre-storm. I'll be glued to the weather until then...and afterwards of course. If you go to Millenium Weather or Accuweather there are some EXCELLENT forecast discussions about the Christmas storm and later winter trends. I still don't understand much of the lingo in their discussions. However, in a couple of years that will change. Or, if I keep reading these reports they'll become second nature eventually. All right have a great day and enjoy the pleasent day...8^)...Ev |
