Today&Future Forecast Summary

No current conditions

The Sunday night Christmas Eve storm is all rain in SEPA. The coldest air of the season will arrive later Christmas day and last indefinatively. The jetstream and overall weather will become more favorable for the formation of coastals. In fact, there still is the possibility of a coastal storm on Wednesday. The actual weather this fall/winter has trended farther northwest because of warmer SSW (Sea Surface Water Temps) off the East coast. This warm water could mean that the lows models are predicting to miss the coast by 100-200 miles could hug closer and bring at least some snow to the coast. The temps will definitely be cold enough to support snow. During this upcoming Holiday week daytime highs will decrease daily. This will not be a sudden cold snap, rather a gradual one. Each day, avg temps will decrease a degree or 2. This means that for the first time our temps will be BELOW normal. I was looking at Scranton's average temps so far during the month of December: 10 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL!!! That's nuts. If the weather holds with a Greenland Block and shrinking East coast high pressure we could flip those temperatures in January too 5-10 DEGREES BELOW NORMAL..sweeeeet Also, Nor-Easters could be involved in the forecast much more often. Ok get ur last minute shopping done and check back for more updates on this changing weather pattern...8^)...Ev
