GataFairy
Baka: First off, what can you tell me about yourself?
GF: ^.^ Watashi wa GataFairy. I speaks 2 languages and I use messed up grammar sometimes to get my point across humorously. (Such as using "I is" and such) Some people call me cooky ^-^;; Currently I is learning Japanese and Hebrew.
Baka: That's the stupidest thing you've ever done?
GF: Oi, I thought I'd escape a question like this! ^.^; I really don't know. Probably dressing up kinda like Lime and dancing like a moron for a school presentation.. ^.^;; It was fun, though. ^.^;
Baka: What would you say is your greatest personal triumph?
GF: I'd say that'd be being able to surrender myself to the Higher Will. (I believe in the God of the Jews. Yes! ^.^ Always n forever!)
Baka: What are a few of your favorite things (food, movies, music, etc.) ?
GF: I love Italian (LOTS of tomato sauce, mind you, and not that much cheese.. depends on the dish ^-^) and Mexican's nummy. I love my mom's cooking.
As for movies.. I like:
Sailormoon S (only b/c of Himeko and Kakeru, mind you), Night of the Twisters,
Freefall, Disney's Mulan, Disney's The Parent Trap (1998 remake), umm.. cheez whiz,
there's more of these! Ummness.. Oo! The Sound of Music! Lesse… Gorsh.. Um.. Every Time
We Say Good-bye was cool. Spiral Starecase, Storm (I love weather movies)… The Wedding
Planner.. Well there's more but I dun remember at the moment. ^.^;;
Music? Jewish praise, Japanese music, classical… Character image songs are amazing.
(That falls into the "Japanese music" bit) I also like some pop songs… But trust me, it
has to be REALLY good in my taste.
I love reading!!!!!!! ^.^ Fiction fiction and of course, a healthy dose of studying and
non-fiction. ^.^
And, of course, writing! ^.~
Baka: Do you idolize anyone?
GF: Not a soul. I don't believe in idolizing people.
Baka: What was your first encounter with SMJ like?
GF: I'd heard the name a couple of times before, so when I saw it on my uncle's DirectTV
system's program list, I told my cousin to put it on. It was in Japanese(no subs) and I
found it so cute! ^.^ It was the episode where Cherry fakes she's in trouble so Otaru
can save her. I saw it again another day (Ep 17, the one where Tiger gets flashbacks
about Faust) and thought it was so sad! (I nearly cried with Lime) THEN, I saw the DVDs
(Collection 2) at Game Stop and I got 'em and I watched and loved. ^.^
Baka: Are there any characters you would say stand out in your opinion from the
rest? How so?
GF: Yes! Definately. Every character in anime is meant to play a specific purpose. In other
words, none of them is just THERE. (Unless he/she's an extra.. hehe) Lime and Tiger,
whose attributes are innocence, portray two sides of the emotion. Lime is a child, and
Tiger is an ignorant adult who fools herself to believe everything will be just fine.
Cherry and Luchs… well, Cherry more than Luchs… comes to be the more understanding and
compromising in what concerns the love for Otaru. Bloodberry is outrageously well-made
personality-wise. She "reaches the final stage" before Cherry, though Cherry is the
first to have her maiden circuit glow all brightishly. Panther… well.. Haven't analyzed
her yet. ^.^; I'm just doing these 'cuz I noticed 'em more. Otaru and Faust also play
two sides of one same emotion, but I can't quite place it at the moment.. (-.-;)
Baka: How many times have you seen the SM series'?
GF: I've yet to see the complete SMJ series, boy! I only have eps 10-25 on DVD, and I've
considered not getting the first set. (I actually consider it irrelevant, in a way..
Maybe because I love interest? *hydes her Digimon Tamers fics*)
Baka: Given the chance, what would you have made different in the original SMJ
story?
GF: That Lime wasn't so childishly annoying. I mean, can we say SPOILED BRAT? Heh, I luv
her anyways! Um… I think it was pretty well-planned and brought out. It was lovely, and
brought me to tears so many times…
Baka: What sort of SMJ Merchandise do you own?
GF: Just the last 2 DVD sets of the J series.
Baka: What sort of things do you like to do to get in the mood for writing?
GF: I have to play the scene in my mind over and over so I won't forget. Then I play it
again and start to add words. The dialogue is part of the "playing". What I add now is
narration. I try to find different words and stuff so it won't sound all
repetitive-ish. To get in the mood? Hm.. Nothing. I'm in the mood most of the time
anyway! ^.^; No, but, if I have writer's block, I read a good fic and then words just
start to flow out of me. (Lovely experience, I might add)
Baka: Do you read fanfic yourself? If so, are there any specific stories out
there you would highly recommend to others?
GF: Yeah! I love readin'! I have several on my FF.net faves list, but on my old fave list I
had well over 15 faves. You'd have to get in touch with me and tell me what you like in
order for me to recommend, though. (I is wacky about this, I knows, but that's the way
it goes, k?)
Baka: Have you ever written a fic you thought little of, only to have readers
praise it?
GF: Um… no comment. ^.^;; No, no. I'll answer this. Um.. I dun remember! ^.^;; Probably. We
all have our "I REALLY dun like this but I need a boost" moments. (ADMIT IT)
Baka: Are there any plans for your future fanfiction writing?
GF: HECK yeah. ^.^ I have several works in the making(as in being typed) and lots of little
scene snippets in my mind. (I think THAT much... oi vey!)
Baka: What would you say inspires your fanfic writing (other than the obvious
answer of the original works) ?
GF: My mood, maybe. Things around me, yeah. If I feel angry I'll make up a situation that's
filled with problems and express what I feel through the character. (Well, part of what
I feel, anyway) If I feel wacky… Well, that's why there's the "humor" genre. ^.^;; I
move around on emotions a lot, so there's quite a diversity in how I'm inspired. I also
get inspired by shows. I'm working on a sci-fi bit that was inspired by Crest of the
Stars. (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED VIEWING)
Baka: Are you more comfortable writing serious or humorous stories?
GF: Yes, absolutely. Life's full of ups and downs.. so am I.. ^.^;;
Baka: How long in estimate does/would it take you to write a full fanfic?
GF: O.O Hm.. Pretty long. I write and re-write, play and re-play, and then if I get stuck
and/or start another project.. Then there's my studies and school. ^.^;; Life is fun.
Baka: What would you say are the most important traits a writer should have?
GF: Whoa! Toughy! Um.. Hm. I'd say you have to be vividly imaginative and have a wide
comprehension of what you're writing about, be it an original work or a fanfic.
Baka: What is your stance on Yaoi/Yuri (guy+guy and girl+girl relationship)
fics?
GF: "I disaprove, but I don't discriminate, because discrimination makes everything worse."
That's what I always say, and that's what I currently believe. I don't think I'll ever
write yaoi or yuri, but I've read some myself. (Heck, some of the yaoi/yuri fics are
better written than straight couple fics!! But I intend to do my part in helping that
not be true all the time. ^.^;;)
Baka: Is there anything else you'd like to add?
GF: Um.. Sukiyaki is good. ^.^;; Nuu.. er.. Lesse. Ah yes. My world (as in .. my world,
hehe ^.~) is compromised of so much that I sometimes marvel at how blessed I am and how
sometimes we're all ingrates. ^.^;; But I'm very grateful that I'm learning, and that I
get to write so much. I'm very passionate about what I do and love; therefore I'm not
going to be regretting writing fanfics anytime soon. Lord willing I'll write a book
someday, probably that sci-fi outline I have. Oh, I love you, God!!! ^.^
Baka: Do you have any questions to ask me?
GF: Um... Have you done this before? These questions are very well thought out and exposed!
^.^ Wai! It feels like a newspaper interview! I wish I could've written the answers
with my handwriting for posterity! Who KNOWS???
Baka: Erm...no, I haven't done this before. It was a spur of the moment decision, actually. I had just got to thinking about how underappreciated people can sometimes feel, so I went address gathering to get my point across of how wonderful I think what they do is. The result, as you see, is hardly a newspaper, but I tried...
Baka: Thank you for your honesty and time...
GF: ^.^ *hugs* Thanks! It was so much fun! Oh! Will you let us know when this is going on the site?? I definately wanna read my
"colleagues"'s (sp???-.-) questionnaire thingees. ^.^ Shalom, sayounara and arigatou!
