luvweaver

Baka: First off, what can you tell me about yourself?
luvweaver: Heh heh, well i wish i could write a whole page about myself. Hey wait, i have! http://rgarcia.angelcities.com/ there ya go. And now, in 2 paragraphs: First i would like to talk about how i USED to be. The typical antisocial hi-IQ nerd (i only lacked the glasses), skinny, and with a lot of fascination for porn (yuk). I had a very low self-esteem, and my refuge was anime, porn (including hentai) and role-playing games. But not anymore.

OK, now my NEW self: About 6 years ago i fell in love (thru the internet) and never saw the girl again (man, that was pathetic!). In my loneliness i asked God to help me, and whoa! what a change! I turned into an incurable romantic, poet, writer, political activist, amateur bodybuilder (well, i still am skinny, but not as much as i used to be), and of course, preacher :D. I'm planning to enter the seminary to become a priest at the end of this year. Ah, did i mention that i fell in love with Jesus? (Yes, romantically!!! Yes, serious! And NO, i'm NOT making this up! :D

Baka: What the stupidest thing you've ever done?
luvweaver: The stupidest thing? Well, one thing i'll always regret was getting into the new age stuff (you know, the third-eye and psychics thing). I started hearing voices in my mind, and almost lost my sanity because of that. Psychic stuff looks great in TV (i.e. anime), but in reality it completely destroys you.

And the funniest stupidest thing? Well, i was practicing Karate in front of the mirror and i accidentally hit my hand with it! LOL! I really felt stupid. I even laugh when i remember.

Baka: What would you say is your greatest personal triumph?
luvweaver: Well, 2. The first wasn't really mine (i'm sure it's more a triumph of Jesus), and that was my change of life and self-esteem. The second is my degree thesis on data compression (you know, like winzip stuff).

Baka: What are a few of your favorite things (food, movies, music, etc.) ?
luvweaver: Food: Pancakes, spaguetti.
Movies: Sci-Fi: The Matrix, Johnny Mnemonic (you have to watch this one!), Gattaca (food for thought on genetical manipulation), Fantasy: The last unicorn (A wonderful tale, and it's anime!), and the flight of dragons (also anime). Oh how could i forget! "The hobbit" and "the return of the king" (anime versions). I liked "Lord of the Rings" a lot - i mean, the original Bakshi version. The background art is just out of this world! Motivational: Finding Forrester, requiem for a dream (sad but true), Stand and Deliver (my favorite!)
Music: Celine Dion, all the romantic songs, Brit Pop (i.e. Fool's garden) and Pop-rock - specially the 80's and 90's (Alphaville, Savage Garden, Tears for Fears). The 80's was my golden age for music.
Videogames: Out of this World, Flashback, the Indiana Jones series, Monkey Island 1, and Kyrandia 1. I like games that immerse you in a world to explore. The games with a linear plot and limited number of locations just stink. I liked also super-metroid for the SNES, but it really got me addicted and i don't like that.
TV: Saber Marionette, Junkyard wars (and all the discovery channels stuff). I also liked old tv shows like "Blackstar", "Dungeons and Dragons", and He-man. Ah yes, and Robotech (how could i forget that?).
Books (fiction): Lord of the Rings, Farenheit 451, the Sherlock Holmes books.
Books (self-help): Combatting cult mind control, the complete idiot's guide to weight-lifting (Alpha books).

Baka: Do you idolize anyone?
luvweaver: Only Jesus, but that's not idolizing since an idol is a false god, so... :P

Baka: What was your first encounter with SMJ like?
luvweaver: My parents hired DirecTV for a year, and i stumbled upon the locomotion channel. At this time (about sept / 2000) i had a very deep relationship with Jesus, i called him "my Lord". And when i saw Cherry call Otaru in the same way (the spanish translation of course), well i was kinda shocked. "Hmm... i have to see this". As i watched more episodes i realized that the Otaru-Lime relationship was the very same relationship i had with Jesus. Some people would LIKE to be like Lime, others would like to MARRY Lime. But i think i'm the only person in the world who can say. "Yes, I _AM_ Lime." :) And no, i'm NOT kidding. In fact, watching this series awakened a much deeper love for God inside me. Something really cool.

Baka: Are there any characters you would say stand out in your opinion from the rest? How so?
luvweaver: Lime! :) Her innocence, what can i say? :P
And Lorelei. She's my ideal for a woman (I wouldn't like Otaru/Lime nor Otaru/ Bloodberry. It's Lorelei). Too bad she didn't appear quite much there.

Baka: How many times have you seen the SM series'?
luvweaver: In fact I still do not know much... seen the first 5 and the last 5 of J... after that I've just seen a couple or three of j to x... but nothing more...

Baka: Given the chance, what would you have made different in the original SMJ story?
luvweaver: Otaru marries Lorelei and she becomes the marionettes' mother. Oh what am i saying, that's already in my fanfic! :D
And... get the ponta little creature to appear more. It's the perfect mascot! :3 Imagine the ponta changing scenes by turning a page (like mascots do in other anime shows), etc.
I would also like Lime, Cherry or Bloodberry talk "live" (like in an interview) about themselves at the end of each episode.
And last, but not least, I would like Lime to have ponta as a pet, tickling it on the couch... you know, that kind of stuff. Do you know if there are ponta plushies out there? They would also be cool for greeting cards (imagine a ponta with a sign that said "i love you!").

Baka: What sort of SMJ Merchandise do you own?
luvweaver: Absolutely nuthin'. I have the real love already, why stick with the figures of it?

Baka: What sort of things do you like to do to get in the mood for writing?
luvweaver: 1) Pray. Since i write about pure love (not cheap imitations), and love is sacred, i pray about it.
2) I also listen to SMJ music and other music that gets me in the mood. Man, anime music rocks!

Baka: Are there any fanfic stories out there you haven't enjoyed?
luvweaver: * Koyuki's red pinwheel. I liked the Koyuki girl having a maiden circuit, but man... the end just sucks. She's supposed to be a non-combat model, i don't quite understand how she could do some things at the end. And well... overall depressing. :/ But i liked the first part.

* Sayounara by "Bloodberry" (that's the author's nickname). I mean, Cherry and Bloodberry exchanging circuits and then falling in love with each other? Talk about narcissism!

Baka: Are there any specific fanfic stories out there you would highly recommend to others?
luvweaver: * Strangers in a strange land (ranma/smj crossover). But i didn't like the ending, where Nabiki falls for Lorelei. Why does it have to get mixed with sex? Ah anyway. Still a good fanfic. I give it an 8. (Warning: Lime acts too immature, somewhat off-character).
* A Tiger's tale. Just fantastic. Keep writing, Guyver! Go go go go go!
* Lime takes a trip. Nice.
* The Mastercard comercials (ROFLOL!)
* History revealed (that cheese stuff was really funny).
* The ticking saber. Sweet :~) but i just hate incomplete stories... i don't like it when authors abandon their works. They're abandoning us! :(

Baka: Have you ever written a fic you thought little of, only to have readers praise it?
luvweaver: I just don't publish it. Period.

Baka: Are there any plans for your future fanfiction writing?
luvweaver: Well i'm planning a triple wedding - Akashi/BBerry, Faust/Tiger and Otaru/Lorelei. But involves sad moments like Cherry and Lime dying (don't worry, they'll come back :P ) Well, it's just a project, i don't know if i'll write it ever. First i have to finish my first fic. (7 chapters done so far!)

Baka: What would you say inspires your fanfic writing (other than the obvious answer of the original works) ?
luvweaver: Love! Pure love! and what better love than God's love? It not only inspires me to write, but also to share this love with everyone. When i imagine people suffering or crying alone, i wish i was there to help them. That's why i wrote my fanfic in the first place. To tell people that there is a God who can help you in your loneliness and give you all the love you need - like He did with me.

Baka: Are you more comfortable writing serious or humorous stories?
luvweaver: Humorous? Um, i'm not a very good at that.

Baka: How long in estimate does/would it take you to write a full fanfic?
luvweaver: In hours? Well let's see, the hours of inspiration / dreaming plus the hours of writing plus the hours of revision (i update or change the previous chapters to keep the storyline coherent, like to add some important details). And of course, the time needed to find the midis for the appropiate mood. (My fanfic includes BGM).

Baka: What would you say are the most important traits a writer should have?
luvweaver: Of fanfiction or in general? Well, in general... humbleness. I can have opinions on other ppl's works - but i cannot judge their works in comparison with mine. It's like comparing two pieces of art. Just can't be done.

Baka: What is your official stance on Yaoi/Yuri (guy+guy and girl+girl relationship) fics?
luvweaver: Well, with time i've found out that love doesn't have to imply sex. In other words, i believe that platonic relationships between two mature men or women can exist. The rest isn't just necessary. In general, i don't like gay stuff.

Baka: Do you have any questions to ask me?
luvweaver: Could you do a self-interview for all of us?
Baka: Heh. Another one of these requests. Guess I *have* to do one now...:p

Baka: Thank you for your honesty and time...
luvweaver: Thanks, and remember! if you want to ask me more questions, i'll answer them right away!
