TDGI is a multinational company engaged in a diversified business around the
world which includes Logistic, Transport, Investment, Consumer and Ship
Management. To date 28 different companies are operating under the roof of
TDGI, major players are NYKFIL, AMERICAN EXPRESS, DOMINOS, DFNN, EMERY,
YUSEN to name a few. My job as IT specialist/ Software Developer gives me
the following duties and responsibilities;
Ø
Provide hardware and software
support to all TDGI employees and member companies.
Ø
Develop software systems for TDGI and
member companies including testing, implementation and maintenance.
Ø
Assist the network administrator in
automation process of the company and management of the local intranet and
network facilities.
Ø
Assist in the Y2K testing and compliance of
TDGI and member company.
Ø
Formulate schemes in virus detection and
removal as well as overseeing of regular updates to workstation and servers
of antivirus files.
Ø
conducts research on current IT trends that may be of help to the company in
the near future.
Ø
conducts preventive maintenance of all computers of TDGI and all member
companies.
Ø
installs e-mail facility to all employees of TDGI and all member companies.
Ø
Assist in the cable management (10/100 mbps CAT 5) of TDGI and member
companies.
Ø
Assist in giving recommendations to member companies on the purchase of
reliable computer systems.
