DISCLAIMER: The characters belong to Joss, WB, Fox etc. not me. Don't sue 'cos I don't have any money. It was Willow's big day. After dating for 10 years Oz had finally summoned up the courage to ask her to marry him. Willow of course had said yes.
Willow was ecstatically happy, she was finally marrying the man she loved. The only thing that was ruining the day was the fact that Rupert wasn't going to be there. He'd been her friend for so long now, but he couldn't go to her wedding because of a watcher's meeting. She tried not to be bitter, but it wasn't easy.

Giles sat in an armchair watching Xander get ready.
"You know you ought to start getting ready G-man."
"I've told you before, I'm not going and that's finale" Giles replied for what seemed like the millionth time.
"Fine" Xander replied as he finished straightening his bowtie. "But I'm leaving now, you're not making me late."
Just before Xander slammed the door behind him he added-
"You know if you'd told her then maybe this wouldn't be happening. She's not a mind reader know you."

Half an hour later Giles was dressed and waiting nervously outside Willow's house for her to open the door.
Willow thre herself into his arms "Oh I knew you'd come. I'm more important to you than any watcher's meeting." Giles almost lost his nerve but steeling himself, he started to say what he'd wanted to for a long time.
"You do mean alot to me Willow, more than anything in the world. That's why I had to come and talk to you."
Giles dropped to one knee and produced a box.
"MArry me instead of Oz" he asked.
Willow's face fell. Giles looked so expectant but she was about to marry Oz, the car would arrive any minute. If only he'd asked sooner.
WIllow heard a car stop outside. "Rupert, that car is going to take me to my wedding. I'm sorry, but it's too late, you've missed your chance. I hope you can be happy with my friendship."
Willow went out of the door and got into the waiting Limo. She looked back at her house as the car pulled away and knew a part of her would always wish she had taken that box from Rupert.
