SUMMARY: Giles succeeds in totally confusing Willow
DISCLAIMER: The characters belong to Joss, WB, Fox etc. not me. Don't sue 'cos I don't have any money.Willow was confused. Well, anyone would be. She liked him, it wasn't that, it was just the whole 'older guy' thing. She wasn't quite sure she could cope with it.
It all started a few weeks ago, she had noticed that Giles was going out of his way to hang around her, sitting next to her and generally taking far too much notice of her and her feelings.
It wouldn't have been so bad if it was only her that had noticed it, but the others had started making jokes about how much he hung around her. She knew they only meant it in fun, but it was too close to the bone not to hurt.
Then yesturday when Giles was helping her with a research project he handed her a note. It looked as if it had taken him hours to write, it was written so perfectly. She read it and then handed it back to him. They then continued the project with not a word said between them. But somehow she couldn't concentrate on the work in front of her.
the time came for Willow to leave. She got up and gave Giles an awkward hug, letting go before he had a chance to hug her back, and left.
Now the words he had written were going round and round in her head. It was hard to believe that it wasn't all just a dream.
Willow picked up the phone to resolve it. She wasn't quite sure how, but it couldn't be left like this.
