SUBMISSION GUIDELINES: Fifth Annual Contest
  1. Anyone, of any age, from anywhere in the world may enter the Contest.
  2. More than one project may be submitted per author.
  3. Projects may be resubmitted from previous Contest years.
  4. Projects may be submitted in one of two formats:
    • Complete Screenplay; or
    • Motion Picture Project Proposal, consisting of
      1. a one-page submission/query letter in the recommended format (per project);
      2. a two-page synopsis of the related screenplay; and
      3. the first 20 pages of the related screenplay.
  5. Sign, complete, and submit, for each project or proposal entered, the
    • Certification form, and
    • Application form
  6. Include payment of the appropriate entry fee by U.S. postal money order (or international in U.S. dollars) or U.S. currency/cash per project:
    • $40 early submission, postmarked by June 15th;
    • $45 regular deadline, postmarked by July 15th;
    • $50 late submission, postmarked by August 15th.
  7. Include author e-mail address on every item submitted, including money order.
  8. Combine multiple entries into one submission (package) using ONE money order to cover ALL enclosed projects.
  9. Arrange delivery confirmation through postal service--not requiring signature at receipt.
  10. Do not include self-addressed stamped postcards or envelopes (or anything else not specifically requested).
  11. Copyright screenplays prior to submission, for your own protection.
RESTRICTIONS
  1. Projects must be:
    • available for option or purchase; with the author(s) retaining full right to turn down any option or purchase offer. Contest administrators must be notified of any change in availability of a project during the competition.
    • feature-length narrative (not documentary).
    • the original work of the applicant(s). If based upon another’s life story, or adapted from another source not in the public domain, applicant(s) must attach a statement attesting to the rights obtained to make such adaptations.
  2. Any and all material submitted to the Contest will not be returned to writers.
  3. Communications or behavior of any sort considered unprofessional, discourteous, or in any way potentially damaging to the Contest, will be considered grounds for disqualification.
  4. Contest administrators reserve the right not to select winners when the quality of material submitted does not properly warrant such selection.
