Dr.  Pollner is the holder of a Doctorate from Columbia University, President of Cinema Verite Int'l Inc. and a former professor at Columbia. She has been invited worldwide by a number of governments and companies to teach and provide her consulting services.   This has taken her to many places, including the former Soviet Union, Poland, Eastern Europe and the Middle East.  (In 1997 Dr. Pollner was sent by the U.S. government as a consultant to Russian Educational Television in Siberia where she produced educational programming.)

Dr. Pollner has run empowerment seminars at CUNY, NYU, UNO-Nebraska, Texas Tech, Salve Regina, SUNY Purchase, Trinity College and the University of the Virgin Islands, amongst others.

As a New Yorker who witnessed the tragedy of the World Trade Center and a Trauma Expert, Dr. Pollner has developed a program to help students basic understanding of Terrorism Preparedness.

Over the years, Dr. Pollner,  has presented the following empowerment seminars on: conflict resolution, gender issues, multi-culturalism and diversity.

Gender Issues:

Sexual Harassment - Date Rape.
Sex Lies and Appetite - Food for thought (how the media reinforces Anorexia and Bulemia).
Tomboys are great (sports empower girls)
Act like a Man (masculinity and Boys)
You can Be! (Little girls should go into all professions)

Multi-cultural and Diversity:

Former Soviet Union: Religious?  (Orthodox Christian Groups, Judiasm, Cults, etc.) Films in 6 countries - Monasteries, religious weddings, childrens schools are presented.
Russia and Eastern Europe: From Flea Market to Free Market! (co-narrated by Ambassador Jack Matlock) societies in transition. A moving chronicle of the political, economic and social changes in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Russia.
Arab Human Rights Abuses: Genital Mutilation, Slavery in Africa, Trafficking of women.
Mothers Wanted: Abandoned Children of Eastern Europe Children orphaned by the economic problems of societies in transition.
Corruption and Addiction in post-Communist societies Filmed in 8 countries of the former Soviet Union; dealing with money laundering, the trafficking of women, drugs, etc.. Ministers of police, bank officers, gang members, as well as addicts in the first therapeutic recovery program are shown. 
Restructuring education in Eastern Europe Today. The educational ideology has changed, computers, the disabled have new programs and now the young must refocus their energies in these societies in transition. 
Mexico: Fiestas and Folklore! A celebration - parades, fiestas and vibrant costumes of the Mexican Cultural Heritage. 
Women in Cuba! Children in Schools, sex educators discuss AIDS, Women in differing professions on work in Cuba.
China's only children: Little Emperors? Children in schools, after school activities, learning English, are shown. Working with limited facilities, Chinas only children are seen as highly responsible and moving into the future.
