Chapter 10

Liz and Chris were the first ones in the hotel room, followed by Lance and Lex.  JC and Joey straggled in right behind them.  They'd been gone over 5 hours, instead of three, and were worried about Cat and Justin.
"It's too quiet in here," JC said.  "I hope they didn't kill each other."
"I don't think so.  They aren't that bad," Liz said.  She grabbed the key from the table and walked over to the room.  Unlocking the door, she expected to see the two on opposite side of the room, murder in their eyes.  What she saw instead sent her into shock.  Her jaw dropped and  eyes grew huge.
Everyone had gathered behind, her waiting to see what the two would do.  What they saw was the last thing any of them expected.
Cat and Justin were lying on the bed together.  Justin was lying on his back; Cat on her side; her head was on his chest; their arms were wrapped around each other.
"Oh my God.  I never expected to see this," Joey said.  Personally, he thought, the two would make the perfect couple.
Liz, Lex, and Lance were in shock, their jaws to the ground.  JC and Joey looked at each other and scrambled around the room, trying to find camera's.  Chris was standing near the bed, looking at the two.
JC and Joey found some camera's and pushed their way into the room.  They got as many pictures as they could before Chris told them to stop.  He shook Lance on the shoulder; when he finally snapped out of his shock, Chris told him to take Lex out.  Chris pulled Liz out, telling the others to get out.
"Let them sleep; they aren't going to do anything but sleep."  Chris' words snapped Liz out of her shock.
"They'd better not do anything.  I'd kill both of them if they did,"  she said.  Chris went back into Justin's room and unlocked the connecting door.  He walked back out.
"They would probably kill themselves before doing anything like that,"  Chris told his wife.  He unlocked Cat's door and the connecting door.  "Just let them sleep."  He came up to his wife and gave her a kiss, then walked with her or their room.  Everyone else drifted into their rooms.

Cat yawned and sat up.  Justin stirred.
"What time is it?" he mumbled.
"I don't know," Cat mumbled.  "I just got up.  Do you expect me to know?"  She glanced at the clock on the night table.  "6:00 am."  She laid back down.  "God, that's to early."  She closed her eyes;  second later they flew open.  "Six?  Oh, fuck!"
"That's what I want to do," Justin muttered into a pillow.
"Shut up ?Justin.  We don't want anyone to find out, remember?"
"Oh shit."  He moved the pillow from his face and sat up.  "They're back, aren't they?"
"I don't know.  I think so.  But Liz would have come in here and woken us up."
"Well then, maybe they came in really late.  Let's go back to bed."  He laid back down.  Cat laid down and curled up next to him.  Within minutes, they were fast asleep.
At eight, Liz walked in. Lex followed. Cat and Justin were still sleeping.
"Don't they look cute like that?' Lex said.  Justin woke up when she said that.
"Be quiet.  Cat's still asleep," he whispered.  He slowly slid off the bed, putting a pillow under Cat's head.
"We have to talk," Liz told Justin.  She and Lex walked out.  Justin took a shower and pulled on some clothes.  He stood at the door, wondering if he should wake Cat up.  He decided not to and walked out.
Everyone was gathered in the front room, even Steve, their road manager.  When Justin walked into the room, seven pairs of eyes flew to him.  No one said anything, just stared.
He walked into the kitchen and grabbed something to eat.  He walked back out.  Everyone was still staring at him.
After a few minutes of uncomfortable silence, Justin asked, "What?"
"What did you two do?" Chris asked.
"Seems to me you became good friends; really good ones," Joey said.
""We talked and became friends," Justin said.  Everyone was still staring at him.  "Is there anything wrong with that?"
"No," Liz said.  "It just seems to me you were rather close, especially after all the arguing you two did."
"Well, we just never talked before.  We were to busy arguing."
"How did yo start talking?" Lex asked.
"We opened our mouths and projected our voices across the room," Justin replied.  A pillow came flying.
"What led to you two talking, not yelling at each other?"
"We both said something at the same time and started laughing.  Then we started talking and got to know each other."  In the most way possible.
"Oh." Liz narrowed her eyes.  You didn't do anything else?"
"No, we didn't do anything else.  All we did was talk," Cat said from the door of her room.  "Although if we did, it shouldn't be any of your business."
Everyone turned toward her.  "You're up," JC said.
"No, JC, I'm sleep walking and talking in my sleep."
"Well. in that case, you should go back to bed."  Joey got up and walked toward her.  "Here, let me help you."
"Very funny, Joey."
Everyone started laughing  Cat walked into the room and sat down next to Justin.  "When are you guys leaving?"
"At noon.  Why?" Chris asked.  "Not packed?"
Cat glanced around the room, looking at her friends.  "Umm, I'm not leaving.  Casting is beginning early since I have the script done already."
"What?  Why didn't you tell us this earlier?"  Liz asked.
"I was.  It just slipped my mind."
"That's not an excuse.  Are you going to star filming early?"
"Well, I already know who I want to play everyone; just have to talk to their agents.  But we want to start filming as soon as possible.  We'd like to get it out before the end of the year.  I want those Oscars."
Want them badly?"  Lance asked.
"Hell yeah, I want the Oscars.  Although it shouldn't be a problem, seeing how well the books did, I want to do everything to my advantage."  Cat got up and started walking around the room.  "I'm going to stay with  some friends until I find out how long I'm going to be in LA.  Then I'll find an apartment or something."
"Give us your address so we can write.  And you have to write back," Justin said.  Cat had walked into the kitchen.  They could here her groan.  Cat was a terrible pen pal; she was always to busy to write.
"I prefer e-mail," she said, walking back out.  "You can send me letter, but I won't write back.  I'll e-mail you.  And beside, filming won't be done in LA; it'll be done in Europe, so it'll be kind of hard to write."
"So for our cameo's, we have to go to Europe?"  Liz asked.
"Yeah, you do.  And so does everyone else on my soundtrack, who all demanded cameo's."
"So you already have your soundtrack picked out?  Isn't that supposed to be done by the music composer and director?" Joey asked.
"I am the director.  And producer; and I'm writing the script and acting in it, as the main character."
"Lots of responsibility."
Cat smiled.  "You bet.  But I'm up to it.
