~~~~~~~~~~~ December 23 2002 ~~~~~~~~~~~"Hey Cat. We're home," liz called, walking through the door; Lex followed. Lex had moved in with them a year ago. They collapsed on the couch, their bags falling to the ground.
"No, I thought you were the man of my dreams." Cat closed her laptop and got up. "Have fun?" she asked, walking over to a window.
"Oh yeah. Lodes of fun. We brought gifts for the guys and all our friends,' Lex said, digging through her bags. "See. We bought these for us, but our boyfriends are going to love them." She held up a short, sexy blue nightgown that matched the colors of her eyes. It set off her light brown hair wonderfully.
Liz pulled out hers. One was purple, her favorite color, and the other was a light blue the same color of her eyes. "I got two. The purple I couldn't resist and the blue because the saleswoman said it set off my red hair."
Cat laughed. "So you bought a lot of things. Half for the guys, I suppose."
"Well, just for our guys. The others won't see them," Liz replied. Her and Lex gathered up their things and went to their rooms. They came back out and sat down. "Cat, you do know the guys are coming tomorrow?" Liz asked.
Cat nodded. She was typing up the end of her sixth book, the last of her series.
"Please be civil," Lex said.
That brought Cat's head up. "I'm always civil to the guys. It's just Justin I'm mean to. And he deserves it."
"I don't care, Cat. You will be civil." Liz glared at her.
Cat returned to her typing. "If he doesn't start anything, I'll be nice."
"Cat, why do you act so mean to Justin?" Lex asked. After her and Justin had resolved their differences, they'd become good friends. Liz was also close to him. Neither of them could understand why Cat had such an intense dislike for Justin. And they couldn't understand why Justin had the same feelings for her.
"He's a punk. He's a jerk, a jackass, an asshole, and a whole bunch of other things. I hate his guts." Cat closed her laptop and stood up. "If you want to have a good Christmas, keep him away from me." She stalked into her room.
