Chapter 7

~~~~~~~~ December 26 ~~~~~~~~
"What?!?  She left?!"  Liz read the note posted on Cat's door.
"Have emergency meeting with agent and publishers.  Flying to NY.  Left 6:00 am.  Bye.
Cat."
Liz walked down the hall, muttering under her breath.  She stopped in the living room.  Justin was there, along with everyone else.
"This is probably all your fault, Justin.  If you weren't here she'd probably still be here."
"Huh?  What are you talking about?"
"Cat.  She left this morning."
"Oh.  She told me to tell you, her agent called this morning, saying something about how she needs to be there for these meetings or something like that."  Justin thought for a minute.  "Oh yeah.  She'll be back December 31."
"She left and didn't tell me?  How rude!"  Liz sat down on Chris' lap.
"She probably didn't want to risk seeing anything,"  Joey said.  "Since you're engaged and all, she'd assume that things had gone on, and well, didn't want to see any shocking sights."  He started laughing.
Four pillows came flying toward him.  Everyone started to laugh.
Justin faked a laugh so no one thought something was wrong; but his heart wasn't in it.
Cat glanced down at the city from the plane.  She was glad to be going to New York; she loved the city.  But she had left her heart behind in Denver.
~~~~~~~~~ June 2005 ~~~~~~~~

Liz walked into the front room of the hotel they were staying at, in LA.  "Are the guys back yet?"  she asked Lex and Cat.
"Liz, what do you think?  If they were here, you and Chris  would be all over each other, just like Lex and Lance," Cat replied.  She pushed her hair out of her face and blinked her golden brown eyes.  "I need a trim," she muttered.  "You guys have only been married year and a half, but you still act like newlyweds.'
"Oh, shut up.  You'll be the same way when you get married."
"I doubt I will get married, but if I do, I'm sure I'll be worse."
"How do you know that?"  Lex asked.
"I don't know; I'm assuming.  And why- because of the type of person I am."
"Cat, you're a 22 year old virgin.  I doubt you'll be worse then us."
"I'm only a virgin because I want to concentrate on school and writing, and besides, all of my boyfriends weren't worth it."
"Sure..." Liz started to say; just then all the guys came in from rehearsal.
"Hey, babe,"  Chris said, walking over to Liz and kissing her.  Lance walked over to Lex and kissed her.
The guys collapsed on the couches.  Chris and Lance put their wives on their laps.
"God, we're tired," Chris said, resting his head on Liz's shoulder.
"Oh, poor baby." She patted his head.  The girls laughed.
"We're going out to dinner tonight, so you guys might want to go shower,"  Lex told the guys, exchanging glances with Liz, Lance, and Chris.
They'd gotten sick of hearing Cat and Justin argue and fight, so they were going to leave them in the hotel together; hopefully they'd become friends.
Cat glanced around.  "I can't go.  I'm editing my script."
"Okay,"  Liz said, getting up and going into her room.  "I'm going to use your shower so Chris can use the one in our room."
"Whatever."  Cat went back to typing.
After a few minutes, Cat got up and went to the kitchen to get something to drink.  Justin bumped into her, sending the soda she was holding flying.
"Justin, you idiot, can't you watch where you're going?"  she commented, cleaning up the spill.
"It was an accident."
They walked into the front room, arguing.  "Fine then.  Fuck you," Cat screamed. picking up her laptop and stalking into her room.  Justin went into his.
"That's it.  I'm sick of this," Liz said.  Her and Lex went into Cat's room; the guys went into Justin's.  Lex unlocked the concocting door, from Cat's side; Lance unlocked it from Justin's side.  Liz and Lex dragged Cat into Justin's room.
"What the fuck are you doing?" Cat asked, as they dumped her on the bed.  Lance relocked the connecting doors.  They all walked to the.  Cat was sprawled on the bed and Justin was standing by the window.
"We're leaving you two in here together.  We're going out to dinner and will be back in 3 hours," Liz said.  "You two had best be friends or you will stay in here until you are."  Everyone walked out.  They heard the door lock.
