"Act II" Author's Note:This is a continuation of "Carmen in Shakespeareland". Part One:The revelation Carmen Sandiego sighed as she approached her destination: Professor Sara Bellum's lab. She knocked on the door. "Come in," Sara called from the other side. Carmen opened the door. "Carrrmen! I thought you vere Anna Litical!" Sara said nervously. She tried to push away some papers. Carmen raised her eyebrows. "What are you up to?" "Up to?" Sara repeated. She held up the papers. It was the current Acme roster. "Does zis look like plans to take overrr zee world?" She looked at her puzzled employer. "Oh, vell. I suppose you have a rrright to know. I'm in love with Nigel Skeffinger. I know, I'm on the left side of the law and he's on zee rrright, but isn't zat rrromantic? It's like Romeo and Juliet. Or West Side Story." The door flew open. Anna Litical entered, holding a copy of Macbeth. She opened her book. "Macbeth was strong, but he was taken by the thought of his success. Ah, those spotlight shadows, how they lured him. And took him like all the rest. The Weird Sisters knew they couldn't destroy Macbeth on their own, so they enticed him to destroy himself." "Uh, Anna?" Sara asked. "Isn't it a little late for zat?" Carmen trembled. Macbeth, the dream, Nigel and Sara were married. Anna interrupted her thought. "Are you OK, Carmen? It looked like you were having some sort of seizure." The boss shook her head. "Sara, I have to do something tomorrow. Could you meet me in the cafeteria for lunch?" To be continued...
